The Suzuki Jimny: Enhanced Perfection… If You Can Afford the Lottery Ticket

    • The Suzuki Jimny Nomade has been upgraded with advanced safety features.
    • This model now features modern ADAS technology alongside an optional 9-inch display.
    • The robust 1.5-liter engine and ladder-frame construction remain unchanged.

Following the release of new versions of the Jimny and Jimny Sierra in Japan, Suzuki has extended similar enhancements to the five-door Jimny Nomade. Since its launch in 2025, this SUV has quickly become popular, and the recent upgrades aim to further build on its success.

    Subtle Exterior Enhancements

The exterior design of the Jimny Nomade strikes a balance, retaining its rugged appeal with only slight modifications. A new sensor has been added just above the front bumper intake, ensuring enhanced functionality. This compact SUV maintains a length of 3,890 mm (or 153.1 inches) and introduces a sophisticated Granite Gray Metallic paint option, expanding the color palette to seven attractive choices.

For those looking to personalize their vehicle, Suzuki offers a wide range of factory accessories and many aftermarket options, thanks to Japan’s dynamic tuning culture.

    Interior Upgrades for Enhanced Connectivity

The standout upgrade in the cabin is the optional 9-inch infotainment display, which enhances user experience with smartphone integration, built-in navigation, and a rearview camera. Additionally, a standard 4.2-inch multi-information display sits between the analog gauges, providing essential vehicle data at a glance.

Further improvements include standard LED ambient lighting and a steering wheel equipped with audio and phone controls. A conveniently positioned USB port with a shutter has also been added to the front tray, enhancing accessibility and user-friendliness.

    Consistent Performance, Modern Technology

Under the hood, the Jimny Nomade retains its proven 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels through either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission, maintaining its reputable performance.

In terms of safety, the inclusion of advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) has been significantly upgraded. Features including Dual Sensor Brake Support II, low-speed brake support, lane departure notification and prevention, and expanded sign recognition are now standard. Notably, adaptive cruise control is available for automatic variants, while all models benefit from front and rear parking sensors, elevating safety measures.

    Pricing Information

The updated Jimny Nomade is priced starting at ¥2,926,000 (approximately $19,000), applicable to both manual and automatic transmissions. This reflects an increase of ¥275,000 ($1,800) for the manual option and ¥176,000 ($1,100) for the automatic version compared to its predecessor.

Optional upgrades are available, including the touchscreen display for ¥128,700 ($830), a bi-tone paint option costing ¥55,000 ($350), and a Craggy Style accessory package that can add ¥404,030 ($2,600) to the overall price.

    High Demand and Production Plans

Due to strong demand, anyone placing an order between January 30 and February 28 will enter a lottery, with regular orders slated to commence on March 1. Production of this updated model is expected to begin in July as Suzuki must first address the backlog of orders for the outgoing version of the Jimny Nomade.

It’s important to note that the five-door Jimny Nomade is imported into Japan from Suzuki’s manufacturing facility in Gurugram, India. Following this update, similar enhancements are anticipated in other markets, including India and Australia.
