AI Pulls a Fast One: Toyota GR GT Supercar Leak Hoax Leaves Fans Reeling!

    車とバイク

The striking images that circulated on social media just a day before the official reveal of the GR-branded supercar caught everyone’s attention.

    • The “leaked” images of the GR GT were later revealed to be AI-generated renderings.
    • Styling discrepancies contradicted Toyota’s teasers, proving the photos as inauthentic.
    • The source leaned on a YouTube video that drew inspiration from Toyota’s recent marketing material.

As Toyota prepares to unveil the Gazoo Racing GT supercar, alongside its Lexus counterpart this week, the online community has embarked on a campaign to get ahead of the reveal. A flurry of images appeared on social media, claiming to showcase the car in its entirety, only for enthusiasts to realize later that these were products of artificial intelligence.

The viral images, seemingly taken from a screen, sparked discussions across forums and social feeds. Many users accepted them as genuine, believing they were glimpsing the true GR GT.

To be fair, the rear view certainly looked convincing, but inconsistencies in the front bumper’s air intakes raised doubts compared to Toyota’s official teasers.

Upon further investigation, the alleged “leak” traced back to a video posted on the Evren Ozgun Spy Sketch YouTube channel. Despite the clip being labeled as unofficial, its realism captivated enough viewers for someone to capture phone screenshots and circulate them as real, capturing a moment of widespread intrigue.

However, there were telltale signs: the door handles appeared mismatched, the side intakes deviated from the teasers, and the rear badge curiously displayed “Toyota” instead of the GR logo.

    Toyota

Toyota is positioning the GR GT as a spiritual successor to both the iconic 2000 GT and the contemporary Lexus LFA. This new performance flagship will feature a hybrid powertrain, combining electric assistance with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. This setup promises to offer both technical excellence and a nod to automotive history.

The official debut is set for December 4, when Toyota will present the GR GT alongside a Lexus sports coupe. Anticipation builds for both road and race-ready versions, the latter featuring track-oriented aerodynamics, side-exit exhausts, and a notably lower stance.

In the meantime, you can check out the unofficial videos making rounds online—a captivating preview of a vehicle that will soon command attention without reliance on digital renditions.
