- Brabus unveils its first Lamborghini modifications on the Urus SE.
- The Superblack and Mint showcase enhanced aesthetics, power, and luxurious interiors.
- Plug-in hybrid performance tuned to deliver 888 hp, achieving quicker acceleration times.
In a bold move away from its traditional tuning of Mercedes-Benz models, Brabus has set its sights on the Lamborghini Urus, introducing two fresh builds that elevate the luxury SUV’s performance and aesthetic appeal. Both iterations are derived from the updated plug-in hybrid variant, featuring Brabus’s signature enhancements that include increased horsepower, a distinctive body kit, oversized wheels, and interior upgrades that exude elegance.
The Eye-Catching Brabus Models
Brabus presents the Brabus 900 Mint and Brabus 900 Superblack, each named to reflect their striking visual characteristics. Among the two, the Mint stands out vividly, showcasing a dazzling pastel green finish that is evident both externally and within the cabin.
Styling alterations are relatively subtle compared to Brabus’s more extravagant offerings. Each SUV is equipped with a refreshed front splitter, modified intake garnishes, broader fender flares, a more robust lip spoiler, and a rear diffuser featuring quad exhausts. The Superblack variant boasts visible carbon fiber components, while the Mint remains cohesive with body-colored accents.
Enhanced Performance and Handling
Both vehicles are equipped with 24-inch Monoblock Z Platinum Edition forged wheels designed with a ten-spoke layout. The suspension system is enhanced by Brabus’s SportXtra module, which lowers the vehicle’s stance by approximately 20 mm (0.8 inches), thereby enhancing its road presence and handling dynamics.
Inside, the Brabus Masterpiece treatment captivates with luxurious quilted leather, Alcantara microfiber accents, and a blend of aluminum and carbon fiber details. Color options align with the exterior designs and include striking black or mint themes.
Powertrain Overhaul: The Hybrid with an Edge
The combined power output for the plug-in hybrid system has been elevated from 789 hp to an impressive 888 hp, along with a torque increase from 950 Nm (710 lb-ft) to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft). This significant enhancement is achieved through the Brabus PowerXtra LG40-900 upgrade applied to the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, while the electric motor remains unchanged.
Acceleration benefits slightly from the upgrade, allowing both models to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in an impressive 3.2 seconds—an improvement of 0.2 seconds over the stock Urus SE. They maintain a top speed of 312 km/h (194 mph), although they remain behind the Mansory Venatus in both acceleration and speed, which claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 323 km/h.
Investment Worth the Performance
As anticipated, the exclusive nature of these modifications comes at a significant cost. The Brabus 900 Superblack has a starting price of €544,098, approximately $645,600, while the Mint variation is priced a bit higher at €583,071, or around $691,900. Although these figures exceed the base Urus SE price, they remain competitive compared to the Mansory Venatus, which commands a higher premium.
For those seeking extra details, Brabus has released official video footage capturing both models, including their launch at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See.
In summary, the Brabus 900 Mint and Superblack add a new benchmark for performance and luxury in the SUV segment, showcasing Brabus’s skill in transforming an already remarkable vehicle into something that commands attention and admiration on the roads.
