Held at Winton Raceway, located approximately two hours north of Melbourne, the 2025 N Festival introduced a three-day format, reflecting the growing interest in the event. This exciting change allowed greater participation and track time for eager owners.
With more than 350 cars taking part, entry merely required an approachable AU$60 (equivalent to $40), inclusive of ample track time, a bag filled with N-branded merchandise, and valuable lessons from experienced driving instructors. This makes the event an outstanding value when compared to typical track days, which often exceed AU$300 ($200).
Innovative ‘Nvy Track Sessions’
The best part of the 2025 N Festival? The introduction of the “Nvy Track Sessions.” Open to a select group of 20 non-N vehicle owners each day, participants required invitations from N car owners, easing inclusivity among varied car brands. I joined with my Renault Megane RS275, ready to experience the thrill of the track.
Throughout the festival, participants were divided into six groups and enjoyed five 15-minute sessions, adding up to an impressive 75 minutes of driving time—a hefty amount for most non-professional drivers.
Despite the soaring temperatures exceeding 30°C (86°F), my Renault, boosted to 294 hp and equipped with performance tires, performed incredibly well against stiff competition, including an array of impressive models like BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Toyota. Maneuvering through the track was blissful, demonstrating the prowess of a finely-tuned hot hatch.
Feature Cars on Track
The star attractions of the day were undoubtedly the Hyundai models present. Journalists and enthusiasts alike had the opportunity to drive the brand’s current lineup, including the i20 N, i30 N hatch and sedan, and the much-lauded Ioniq 5 N.
Winton’s tight and technical layout proved perfect for the agile Hyundai offerings. The diminutive i20 N showcased its nimbleness, keeping pace impressively amidst its more powerful competitors, while also surprising drivers with its engaging handling and grip.

Equally impressive were the i30 N hatch and sedan, known for blending on-track performance with daily drivability. Although similar in performance statistics, distinct differences in handling and configuration manifest between the two variants, with the hatch exhibiting heightened agility and the sedan offering stability thanks to its longer wheelbase.
